Summer happenings part one

When my kids start telling me I need to update my blog, I guess it’s time! Haha!

The three littles got the painting bug and Simon used his Squishables plushies as models.

Lotus had her first visit to Enchanted Forest and LOVED IT, as we all do. They’ve added some nice additions.

Lotus and I killed some time at the Grotto and felt like a couple of imposters.

The boys tried out a Vive virtual reality game at a friend’s house and have been wishing we had one of our own.

Spring!

Oregon is giving us the teaser week of sunshine and it has flooded me with energy and happy! I know it will come crashing down when the rain, cold and grey returns next week, but in the meantime…check out my gorgeous backyard!

We’ve done some weeding, mowing, cleaned off the deck and patio set, and Xander planted some zucchini seeds. I’m planning on four little square gardens this year, so each of the kids will get a chance to start some seeds. Fingers crossed I can do better than past attempt!

Our trampoline is even getting a makeover. The spring cover pad is so worn it is coming apart in big flakes of plastic sheets. Ick!

Puppy training is going about as expected: terrible. Ha! So many poops and pees in the house.

My sister has us trying this play pen method, using sod, to teach him grass is the only appropriate potty surface. We were supposed to place a little turd on the grass to get him started. He immediately stepped in the turd and spread poop everywhere and all over his bed.

He always goes on the floor, between the sod and the bed. Jason and I grabbed the Windex to clean it up…then read the ammonia cleaner is basically adding to the marking scent. We are such noobs.

The photo is after we first set it up and have since opened it up into a little bigger size. Sad little Kevin in his doggy jail.

Watch “Three Littlest Pet Shops” on YouTube

Lotus made her first Littlest Petshop video. Well, her first that made it to completion without technical difficulties.

Knitting again

My knitting took a major slump and I didn’t finish anything for a long time, but the mojo returned and things are getting done!

This is called My Favorite Things infinity scarf. A choose your own adventure by scouring the internet for different patterns to add my own favorite things to the scarf. One scarf, but three photos to show all of the different sections…

Jason tries on a secret Christmas knitting project for Xander. It’s called Ode to Joy and the music notes can be played.

That’s it for now but I’ve already started in on a light weight poncho so the knitting energy is still here. yay!

15th Anniversary

The hubs and I celebrated our 15th anniversary and took the family to our favorite spot at the beach: the Surfsand Resort. It has the best pool!

We went out for a nice dinner and the kids got their own table, practicing their independent restaurant skills. Jason and I pretended we were there alone. haha! The kids did great.

Banks-Vernonia trail

Today I rode the last two sections of the Banks-Vernonia trail from Top Hill to Vernonia Lake. Now that I have finally ridden all sections of the trail (non-consecutively), I can say that the two sections into Vernonia are my fav!

It was a great, nearly flat ride and a gorgeous view at the end for lunch. Just me and the ducks…

I’d love to do the entire length in one go next, but no way I’m ready for the entire length AND BACK. Not with that 8 miles of incline from Manning to Top Hill.
