There was a "not back to school day" at the Oaks park. I have lived here my entire life and never been to this establishment. The proximity to the river was nice but it was still an annoying carnival. The kids had a blast and that's what counts:)
Before we headed out I brushed the boys hair and decided to straighten Xan's hair for fun. It was so different to him he started to cry. All was good when he was assured a simple run through the water would bring his curlies back.

I see you take an alternative approach to educating your children. Have they been tested this year to see how they measure up to their peers? Are you concerned they're not integrating into the world, and life might eventually run them over like a freight train, even in the simplest of social situations? Will you encourage them to pursue a formal education, ever? Are you the person responsible for teaching them proper grammar?

Hi Zoe. Sounds like you had a fun day at the carnival. So Xander didn't like his hair straight, huh? I can't believe Simon is getting so big. Feels like I have only been away for a few months, but gosh, it has been almost 2 years. WOW!

Jeremy just cut off Nathans curls-- I am still sad about it. :o( Glad you had fun at Oaks park- I haven't built up the courage to take my littles there yet.
I worry about your approach to education too-- I mean are you sure its in the best interest of your children for YOU to spending your time with them and educating them, rather than some STRANGER in a school system that rarely looks at the individual child, or at least isn't reviewed on their individual results? And how are you making sure no freight trains are coming at your kids? Your boys will cause quite the bit of damage for anything thrown at them-that is what I would be concerned about...geez

Hi Megan! You've got my back I see. haha! I don't sweat it or feel any need to justify my families approach to parenting. We are loving life and enjoying every day with minimal stress. Other's choices for their own families are fine too and I claim no authority to judge.
I've found that when people fire "concern" my way they aren't *really* interested in learning about unschooling. If they were, they would use Google and seek out some reading for themselves;) right? and if they aren't really interested in learning about it, what is their motive and why would I waste any of my time? No crusade for me. lol!!!
