Christmas crafts

Kristin stepped up the playdate activities today with some craft projects. We now have some awesome s’more/snowmen ornaments and wall decorations for Christmas. The kids had fun and so did us grown-ups:D

Jason’s Grandma Louise turns 100!

Grandma Louise took the mic and spoke about how thankful she is for all the loving, wonderful people in her life and that she “really can’t complain about a thing” hehe. She is the sweetest lady and like a mother to Jason.

Jason recalling memories of Louise and Irwin taking him and his brother and sister into their home and care every single weekend as they grew up and the positive influence.

Ten candles…one per decade. She looked like she made a good effort but couldn’t blow out a single one. Her wish was that she would be able to blow out the candles. haha! Isaac helped her out.

The best photo album of young Louise. Photos from the 20s of the girls draped over NEW cars (not sure what kind, but you can imagine what was new at that time) were the best and young Louise in a beautiful dress, clutching her McCall’s fashion magazine with a huge smile on her face. Still the same face but 80 years ago. Amazing!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Took a pic of all the cousins and this was the only one semi in focus…and it’s not even really in focus:( Ugh! So sad.

We enjoyed a great dinner with family at my sister’s house and now looking forward to relaxing on the couch and watching a movie. :)

almost snow…we hope.

Just stepping out to see the first snow coming down in the dark. Nothing on the ground yet but we are hoping to wake up to a winter wonderland.

…and I love seeing my babies wrapped up in my knitted goods! I printed out a sweater pattern for them and should get the yarn for them soon. :)

Our friend, Dan returned from Taipei, Taiwan today and brought us some (Japanese) gundam models and some candy.

*******

Jason and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary on the 18th. We went out for Thai food and then did the Christmas shopping for the kids. Hey! We know how to take advantage of babysitting hours!

My honey-pants surprised me with a card in the dishwasher. He put it in there, not because I would be doing the dishes (he knows me well!) but because he knew I’d have to venture in there for a clean cereal bowl. Ha!

And he also ran out and bought me this knitting book: At Knit’s End: Meditations for Women Who Knit Too Much by Stephanie Pearl-McPhee. I have been laughing my butt off, enjoying this book immensely. If you knit at all go get this book!

Here’s to another 10 years, Babe. I love you!!!!!

The finished mei tais

My friends rock! Sheri and Kristin and Jason all did a part in making these carriers. Kristin stayed until 1am cranking most of it out and they look GORGEOUS!!!!

I am so excited to have my baby snuggled in it! I can’t wait!

Mei Tai baby carrier

My sister and I bought some fabric for making baby carriers like this one. Neither of us sew and I was having major anxieties over messing up our fabric.

But then I realized I had some ugly curtains in the linen closet and it was all I needed to go crazy on the sewing machine.

My awesome friends are helping me with more accurate sewing, with an actual pattern, with the real fabric BUT today I competed the curtain carrier with no pattern and barely a pin or straight seam. Definitely not measure twice, cut once…but I am pretty pleased with the results!

Definitely not comfortable with Simon in it….

But, it should work fine for the new baby! :)
